The improbable adventures of a nurse/EMT in the Frozen Northlands who knows enough to be afraid

Texas
Apparently my mom has a contact who works as a bigshot for a big conglomerate of hospitals in Houston. I'm thinking about it, even though the air is supposed to be TERRIBLE there, and it's really hot. At least maybe i could be EMPLOYED.
I'm from Up North, but went to nursing school in the Mid Atlantic. I've been a volunteer EMT for 8 years, hold a useless liberal arts degree, and read a lot.
I'm a New Grad Nurse working on a high-acuity surgical floor who knows just enough to be VERY AFRAID. I do my best to do right by my patients, but that doesn't mean I'm all sunshine and rainbows. :-D

On the upside, AC works wonders, and everyone has it. It's also very cheap to live in Texas.
LOL I was going to say the same thing. We all have AC here in TX.
ED RN
There are several places I could never live and one of them is Houston. The humidity and hugeness would bring me way down.
But, if you can get the type of job you want I say go for it. Who knows? You might love it there.
Yep, the air sucks and it is entirely too hot. BUT, it's cheap and there are tons of things to do (if you don't mind a little sweat) :p
Good luck!!
Well I'll prolly be coming down for a visit...to see if I'd survive it.
